El 28 de julio de 2020, el personal de este Consulado General acudió a un seminario en línea con la experta Jennifer Burge, de World Wise Coach.
El seminario trató la importancia de la comunicación intercultural como una herramienta de desarrollo en un ambiente internacional. Se destacaron los elementos característicos en el ámbito profesional de diversas culturas.
Específicamente, se discutieron los siguientes temas:
- Comunicación directa vs. indirecta
- Culturas de bajo y alto contexto
- Culturas colaborativas e individualistas
- Diferencias en la percepción del tiempo
- Consejos para adaptar eficazmente su estilo de comunicación nativo
Este seminario virtual resultó de especial importancia, pues el personal del Consulado, todos de origen mexicano, interactúa diariamente con una cultura distinta. Agradecemos a Jennifer Burge por su capacitación, que nos permitió mejorar nuestras técnicas de comunicación y realizar un trabajo eficaz y enfocado al contexto donde nos encontramos.

(POWER) initiative. you and your partners created a robust half-day conference that effectively
fm1hercd the program's goals of promoting \vomen's economic empowerment and helping them
to establish professional networks. The speakers and panelists that you identitied and recruited
represented the leaders in the mining industry that is so essential to the economies of this
binational region of Sonora and Arizona.
Your interventions about cross-cultural business communication demonstrated your own
expertise in this important facet underpinning international trade. The whole virtual event came
off without a hitch despite the technological and organizational challenges of a global pandemic.
I saw on the participants' faces that they were hungry for the information and for the community

meetings, networking events and forums within the mining sector in Sonora, Mexico, where I

During these events, in which Jennifer has participated as a speaker, she has shared knowledge
that can only come from extensive experience dealing with different cultures; which denotes a

Jennifer has discussed the topic of how to achieve a fruitful coexistence in work environments,
highlighting Mexican/non-Mexican cultural differences and different responses to certain
